A landscape-integrated, underground home where concrete structure, planted roof and careful detailing deliver passive comfort and robust bushfire performance.
Design Overview
The dwelling is set into the slope to reduce exposure to radiant heat and strong winds, with earth berms forming natural shields. Large openings are recessed and protected, while courtyards draw light and air deep into the plan.
- Planted roof and earth mass moderate temperature swings.
- Off-form concrete shell with minimal external maintenance.
- Open-plan living spaces oriented for light and views.
